“Marie-Antoinette” is the sixth work in the “En Majesté” series. It represents Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France, who reigned at the time of the revolution and died beheaded.
She is represented here as an intimate queen, as she wished to be painted by her favorite artist Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. In simple undress she holds an ostrich feather, one of her favorite ornaments.
