Original artwork description:

This is an original watercolour painting on 300gsm quality, archival, acid-free Bockingford paper. Like many of my paintings around this period, the piece features expressive use of colour, imbuing the work with an other-worldly feeling. It's inspired by my home town where I grew up and is based on a poem I wrote as a teenager. This is below:

'Leaving the house at 10:30am'

I leave the house at 10:30am
Beginning a journey right upto the
Stormy border of townscape wilderness
Where the rain taps tunes on
Rooftops and crashes hard
Into the betting shop.

Been stuck in the house
For more than 400 years
Forgotten natural conversation
I combat my anxieties
I stay in the street.

I walk in the brilliant rain
With mud on my shoes
Past the subway and the library
Which seems a sacred place to me
It reminds me of Egypt and Pyramids.

The afternoon is memorable
I meet my friends and we
Play in the streets
Later we sit in our secret green
Hideout in the corny
Watching scud clouds drift by
And we sit on beds playing computer games
Then I return home
Where exhausted I fall
Head first into
Deep sleep.

The work is signed and titled on the back in pencil.

Your painting will come wrapped in protective tissue paper to reach you in the best condition, however please note the back of the paper is a little marked with age, but this does not affect the appearance of the painting itself.

If you have any questions relating to the work before purchase please don't hesitate to ask me.
