Joy II Summer forms part of a series of paintings celebrating the Joy of summer, when plants all go a little crazy, flowering up and down, growing in crazy different directions. The sun mellows the brain and sends us endorphins and we see things through a calmer lens, the celebration of the senses explode before us. I hope this painting captures a little of that joy and transcends into the home it finds itself in.
