Original artwork description:

Ivan Kupala day is the day of the summer solstice, after which the day begins to shorten. It is an ancient folk celebration in the Eastern and Western Slavs.
Midsummer day is filled with rituals associated with water, fire and herbs.

On the night of Ivan Kupala girls wondered with wreaths descended into the river: if the wreath floats, it promised happiness and a long life or marriage.
This touching ritual, with wreaths, and captured on film a Midsummer.

For the Slavs, the sun had divine power over the living, and the summer solstice meant the highest peak of all the forces of nature.

Initially, before the spread of Christianity, the holiday was associated with the summer solstice (20-22 June). Now, Midsummer is celebrated on June 7.

The picture Midsummer was presented at the personal exhibition in the International ethno-cultural festival-contest of ETHNIC ART FEST in 2017.
