We are currently experiencing a heatwave here in the UK. It put me in mind of a holiday some years ago in Italy. We stayed not far from Sam Gimignano in a little house on a farm. The view from the house was beautiful...shimmering fields of gold, hills on the far horizon and sometimes if we were lucky we would see a wild boar.
The painting attempts to capture the view from the track leading up to the house. The feeling of intense heat radiating off the fields of corn. A twisted tree by a small pond baking in the sun. The painting is impressionistic and colourful very much painted in the style of the 'fauves'.
It is supplied in a white mount and will fit a frame size 40cm x 40cm
