This work was inspired by an image I really enjoyed, of a sprawling cat. I love the movement and sheer bliss in the cat’s pose, and my favourite part of all is the curled back paw! (Don't you love it?) A friend suggested that a mouse should complete the loop across the composition, which was sort of what I had been thinking. So it's a linocut, hand printed by me in artists' quality oil-based black ink on a colour background screen-printed onto 130g/sq.m Fabriano Tiepolo paper and finished by hand. I know you love cats - quite a few of another work of mine 'Tigger the Cat' sold on this platform (see separate listings) - so here's another cat-themed one, by popular demand! And by the way, it is signed unobtrusively along the mouse's tail, in such a way that the work can be mounted in any orientation you fancy - landscape or portrait and any way up!
The print is sold unframed, for ease and economy of shipping. However, it is despatched in a commercially-manufactured mount set, which comprises a mitre-cut textured off-white mount, backing board and cellophane bag. The mount set measures 14 x 11" (or 35.5 x 28 cm) to take A4. So not only is your purchase ready to present as a gift (if that is your plan with it), but the mount set, together with other robust packaging, protects the print during shipping. There is plenty of margin for framing and the mount set can be discarded, if you have other plans for the print.
I have included a computer-generated image for visualisation purposes, which shows the print framed, but just to reiterate that it is sold mounted but unframed, for ease and economy of shipping.
