The concept of the painting "Blackout" is deeply rooted in the recent events experienced in my city. Following a barrage of 15 rockets, our entire city was plunged into darkness.
However, amidst this adversity, I found solace in the presence of friends who managed to create a lighthearted atmosphere.

In this painting, you witness individuals descending a staircase illuminated by flashlights. This scene reflects the numerous occasions we had to navigate the stairs, often climbing up to the 7th floor where I reside. Despite the arduous and unexpected exercise of ascending flights of stairs, my friends found humor and camaraderie in the irony of our situation, given that they all live on lower floors.
With ample time on our hands during the blackout, I took out my feathers and ink to capture the shared experience not only with myself but also with many fellow Ukrainians. The painting serves as a testament to resilience in the face of adversity and the strength found in unity during challenging times.
