Original artwork description:

The beginning of developing a body of work in 2012 with the subject, “Birds in Nature”, I experimented with a few painting techniques. This piece represents one of the first methods I choose. There are multiple layers built with layers of oil paint. I used broad strokes with thinned oil paint, small linear gestural marks and thick dabs of paint. I created many layers to build the surface to illustrate the textured surfaces of nature. This is one of the first paintings in this series. The images are an interpretation of my observing Birds not a literal representation of time, place or species.
