A secret view from a bridge in Amsterdam. The buildings and canal funnel our gaze to a row of canal houses, bathed in a soft glow of precious sunlight. I experience a pang of longing, imaging the rooms inside. Bicycles are chained to the bridge, trees blossom in the spring warmth, and I listen to the echo of tram bells from afar. The air is still, carrying with a hint of hash, of ground coffee, and the mulchy smell of the canal. The work us subtle and gentle, the gaze holding the focus of light. The canvas board is ideal for framing. A lovely souvenir of Amsterdam.
