Original artwork description
I wanted to create a painting that shows both the beauty and poverty of Africa. This contradiction is woven into the history of Africa. Despite the abundance of natural resources many Western nations such as the USA, Canada, France, and the UK often exploit Africa's natural resources causing most of the value and money from the natural resources to go to the West rather than Africa.
I painted "A Child of Africa" in a realism style. I always start with priming the canvas red and then using large brushes to get the scale, lighting and emotion of the work. Once this is dry I then go over the painting multiple times using smaller and smaller brushes adding detail.
"A Child of Africa" is an original oil painting and will come with a signed certificate of authenticity. The painting is framed in a bespoke frame and will be tracked and insured during delivery.
