Biography
Rossitza Trendafilova espouses her studio as a sanctum of experimentation, akin to a laboratory where the alchemy of sculpting unfolds in the pursuit of artistic revelation. A luminary in the realm of Bulgarian sculpture, Trendafilova emerged onto the artistic scene in 1953, gracing the town of Samokov with her presence. Her formative years culminated in a seminal moment of academic achievement when, in 1978, she attained graduation honors from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, a bastion of artistic pedagogy.
The genesis of Trendafilova's solo exhibition in the capital city in 1987 marked the commencement of her illustrious career as a Bulgarian sculptor, propelling her onto the global stage with subsequent exhibitions across Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Egypt, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Throughout her artistic odyssey, Trendafilova has been the recipient of numerous accolades in Bulgaria, Croatia, and France, lauding her ingenuity in sculpting with color porcelain and chamotte clay, testaments to her innovative spirit and unwavering dedication to the craft.
In recent years, Trendafilova's oeuvre has found a digital sanctuary on the British Artfinder website, a testament to her enduring relevance and transcendent artistic vision. Since 2018, her collaboration with the Bulgarian Integrated Artists Gallery in Sofia has burgeoned into a conduit for the global dissemination of over 60 original artworks, heralding a renaissance in her artistic repertoire and the cultivation of her distinctive fine art ceramics sculpting skills.
