About Johanna Braeunlich

  • Biography
ANNUSCH is my artist pseudonym. My real name is Johanna Braeunlich. I was born in Germany and live and work in the Netherlands. In the field of art ceramics, painting, drawing and sculpting are my main topics. I studied art and ceramics at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, Germany and obtained my bachelor in Fine Arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. For many years I worked as a professional artist and ceramist in Germany, Nepal and India. Since 2008 I’ve been working from my own studio in Almere, the Netherlands, doing free and commissioned work. My vocation is the manifestation of beauty by putting my soul into whatever I create. All pieces of my collection – drawings and paintings, cups, teapots, vases, bowls, urns, etc. — have been filled up with awareness, love and care through the making process. I turn mud into beauty. And then I spread the beauty.
