About Eric Munsch

Eric grew up in Alsace, where he studied at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts. He approaches painting through portraiture and then turns towards an impressionist tendency. Finally in 1999, he devoted himself entirely to abstraction.

The artist develops his technique with oil painting and acrylic on canvas. According to his mood, his mastered style allows him to go from lyrical flights in bright and invigorating colors, to stripped-down compositions, soft and pure. His gesture is sure and, whatever his mood, his style is easily identifiable. His sensitivity permeates each of his paintings. He paints living and generous compositions which never leave indifferent.

The artist's approach is a personal motivation to want to shape joyful colors. Eric wants to associate them with a very specific construction to represent a seascape as a whole. The spectator guesses there a city, a maritime city, sails or boats. The artist gives us with great pleasure an imaginary vision of the seascape. At the same time he works a painting called gestural. Flares of uncontrolled colors come out of his unconscious. This ultimately results in a personal trait: almost a self-portrait.

Eric takes us into his universe of hot and cold tones, by his very varied palette but also by his pictorial gesture. It leaves us to see a world between horizontality and verticality, "from heaven to earth". He tells stories without imposing any image. Artist of gesture and movement, he highlights and colors what crosses him and leaves our eyes a great freedom of interpretation.

Eric likes to share what he sees, what he feels and what he imagines. Her sensitivity permeates each of her compositions.

The artist lives in Alsace and exhibits in numerous galleries in France and abroad. For several years its rating has been rising steadily.
