About Duncan Wright RCA

  • Biography

I am a British artist currently living near Düsseldorf, Germany and working out of a studio in Werden, Essen.  After graduating from Central St.Martin's, London, the Royal College of Art, London and Exeter University, Devon, England I worked out of a studio in Hackney, East London before relocating to the West-country, England and then my present location.  Over the last decade I have worked as a teacher and only occasionally exhibited work but have decided to relaunch as an artist fulltime.

Although the main thrust of my practise is painting I work across a range of media; drawing, collage, resin and sculpture. I am particularly consumed by the human experience, generating personal mythologies that re-work a generic sense of nostalgia.
