During the Covid lockdown I started a series of pool paintings based on a photo shoot conducted with my daughter during that challenging time. I loved the interplay of light and reflection in the sparkling water, and each painting was characterized by a cheerful pop of colour – a cheerfulness sorely needed during those strange times. The series quickly gained momentum and sold out, marking what I believed to be the end of that line of inspiration.
However, I thought wrong. A series of photographs by Green Duck Society, who coincidentally carries prints of one of my pool paintings, made me itch to revisit the series and recapture the joy of summer.
