Artwork description:

The etching “Dandelions” (“Pusteblume” in German) is part of an a series of intaglio prints in a colour range from yellow via turquoise into green tones, each of them unique. The one pictured here is green-yellow.
“Pusteblume” captures motion and space, like that of a gentle breeze moving small seeds along.
The series developed through inking the plates in different yellows and blues and overlaying them, creating variations in colour.
Each print inspired the following one.
With my etchings, I aim to create images that can transport my idea in a subtle way, to ‘show’ rather than ‘tell’ a story.
I hope the viewer can find their own personal narrative in these images.
Imagination is what else there might be.
The prints are taken from 2 or 3 steel plates, printed on acid free paper by me in my studio in Brighton,UK. They measure about 35cm x 35cm with a paper margin of 6cm all around.

Materials used:

Steel plates, printing ink, press, paper

About
My etchings can be described as semi-abstract landscapes of vibrant colours, with wriggling lines, floating hills, beaches and seascapes and imaginative interpretations of subjects of interest. The inspiration and motivation... Read more
